Releases like this are calling me back to my dub techno roots. Well done.
Hello, followers of Arctic Dub (Sursumcorda). Thank you very much for your interest and support over the years. Since 1998, this label has focused on the dub techno genre and iterations thereof, and now the label is riding off into the sunset… but the Bandcamp page will remain online at https://arcticdub.bandcamp.com.
Many thanks to Gabi and Andre and all of the cool producers who’ve contributed.
Founder, Dave Wesley, has started a new label, named Guias Sonoras, for his evolving experimental ambient drone production. If interested, you can check it out at https://guiassonoras.bandcamp.com and https://guiassonoras.com. Take care! DW
I have found voluminous experimental and ambient music mixes on Mixcloud from this prolific label. These are worth checking out for adventurous but listenable music, artist, and label discovery.
Unexplained Sounds Group is a platform run by Raffaele Pezzella (Sonologyst) to investigate the current underground experimental music scene.
Check them out on Bandcamp and Mixcloud.

I love record stores for discovering music.
Not-so-much in the mode of rifling through stacks and dropping needles.
But, for witnessing the shopkeepers’ currently spinning selection.
I’ve stumbled onto so many rubies in this way.
Over the years.
As was discovered the mysterious and entrancing XVARR – Echoes of Time at the wonderful Matéria Prima, on November 24, 2019.
Sincerely yours,
Dave Wesley – Viana do Castelo, Portugal
This is an enthralling spooky 2-hour odyssey. Perfect for your Halloween run-up.
Between Two Points is a monthly transMIXion by Los Angeles based sound artist Richard Chartier for Dublab. A beginning, an end and the layered transitional sonic flow enclosed, ‘between two points’ explores textures, tones, place, and space, featuring experimental, avant-garde, ambient works from the mid-20th century through to our current time. A mysterious progression unfolding for your ears.
originally aired on dublab.com
Richard Chartier is considered one of the key figures in sound art described as “microsound” and Neo-Modernist. Chartier’s minimalist digital work explores the inter-relationships between the spatial nature of sound, silence, focus, perception and the act of listening itself. Chartier’s sound works/installations have been presented in galleries and museums internationally and he has performed his work around the world. In 2000 he formed the recording label LINE exploring the aesthetics of contemporary and digital minimalism.
Chartier (often as Pinkcourtesyphone) began DJing in 1991. Sets can be an eclectic mix, ranging from mid-20th century analog-ica, to post punk synth oddities, to ambient soundscapes, to lounge-y reverberations, to contemporary electronica. Ponderous beats, melodies, & noise nonchalantly mixed into a flowing soundtrack for you, your cocktail, & your inner ear.
If you woke up this morning thinking that you’d like to find a masterful evolving experimental drone track, you’ve landed on the right page, in this distant corner of the web.
Not a lot more to say about this other than, “Wow.”
For those of you that follow my music production, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of experimental use of spoken word and low fidelity music collage.
This release (by prolific experimental music artist Stuart Chalmers) is a perfect fit for my esoteric tastes.
I hope you also enjoy it.
Kind regards,
Dave Wesley – Somewhere in northern Portugal
This wonderful mix rides an in between line of frightening industrial and melancholic intrigue. And, there’s even a smattering of dub techno sprinkled into the recipe. Bonus.
Perfect for gray Monday mornings when one is feeling like a replicant.
From the Secret Thirteen intro paragraph:
“Rosa Damask is the alias of Nastia Reigel, a Russian artist whose productions and DJ sets gained much acclaim in the last few years, both for her refined minimalist approach and impressive technical skills.”
