Anthony Rother – Sex With The Machines
Gabi Von Dub, April 10th 2017
Allow me to highlight herr Rother‘s classic “Sex with the Machines”, which was released end of April, 20 years ago, on Kanzleramt.
A defining masterpiece on its own, carefully designed with classic German precision, it purports an intimate “liaison” between the driven spirit of Anthony and his garden of buttons, keys, plugs and cables… breeding an album that examines the innermost workings of human and machine, under the same will.
Crossing another strong social revival and nostalgic mindset, it is important to reiterate the fact of this labour of love still sounds very present and forward thinking, which says a lot about timelessness of dynamic human possibility.
Kraftwerk are still resting on their dated laurels, so it’s impossible not to acknowledge the importance of less pop culture apparent people like Rother… Thus, I’d like to recommend re-visitation pass on this treasured legacy to future generations.
Time for another shot of aural seduction and body release…
